Louisiana Officials Tend to Lake Filled With Storm Cristobal Rain

Delacroix Island officials attempted to cut a levee to let water out of a lake on Monday, June 8, after heavy rains from Storm Cristobal soaked Louisiana.

St Bernard Parish officials said on Twitter that Road Superintendent Louis Pomes and Alfred Hutchinson were “cutting” the Wood Lake levee in Delacroix to help let water out. This video shows someone operating a digger as piles of dirt are shoveled away to make an opening for water to flow through.
