Louisa Mak praised for enduring numerous slaps from Wayne Lai

4 Aug – Louisa Mak is elated that viewers were singing praises for her most recent performance in "Death by Zero", seeing that it was her last work as a full-time TVB artiste prior to her departure.

As reported on Mingpao, the former Miss Hong Kong 2015 who plays a blind woman in the said series, was recently commended for her performance in one scene involving Wayne Lai's character slapping her several times.

Following the episode, Louisa posted a behind-the-scene clip of that particular scene on social media, and jokingly posted, "Is there anyone who wants to slap me hard?"

Fans who saw the episode commented that it reminded them of Vincent Wong's character in "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles" and "Will Power" where the actor was slapped repeatedly and it eventually earned him the nickname, "Slapped King".

Speaking to the media about the scene, Louisa said that while it looked like she was slapped not more than ten times in the episode, they actually took three to four takes of the said scene for different angles, which meant that she was slapped about eight to ten times for each take.

"But I trust Wayne a lot. He is an experienced actor. I believe he knows how to do it effectively. Of course, there was pain involved. My cheeks were swollen after filming, but as an actor, the pain is normal. My focus was to only do my best to make it realistic," she said.
