Kelly's fans congratulated her for the achievement on Twitter, with one writing: "You brighten up our morning Lorraine" and another commenting "You are a breath of fresh air as is your programme in such difficult times. Thank you [to] you and all the crew, much appreciated".

The Lorraine Twitter account retweeted the presenter's message, adding some raised hands emojis in celebration.

Kelly has been a constant weekday presence on our screens since 1993, having presented GMTV with Lorraine from 1993 until 2010 and then taking on Lorraine from 2010.

Last year Kelly even made a cameo as herself in Coronation Street, in an episode which saw her being accidentally shot with an arrow by Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth), causing her to dub Gail a "daft wee woman".

The presenter recently celebrated her 28th wedding anniversary with husband Steve Smith, sharing a cute throwback photo from their 1992 wedding.

"Happy anniversary to my husband Steve who makes me laugh and is always in my corner," she wrote.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
