As the creator and producer of Saturday Night Live, Lorne Michaels is one of the biggest names in the comedy world and he's also a husband to his wife, Alice Barry.

Barry has been by Michaels’ side throughout the past two decades of his long run at SNL. She’ll soon be by his side throughout retirement, as well, although Michaels hasn't given a definitive answer of when that will happen.

Although he floated around the idea that his departure could be after the show's 50th season in 2024, which premieres on Sept. 28, the TV personality told The Hollywood Reporter that he'll be returning next fall.

Despite his notoriety, Michaels rarely opens up about his private life.

They married in 1991

Michaels and Barry started dating in 1991. They didn’t waste any time and wed that same year.

They kept both their courtship and their wedding ceremony under wraps. Michaels and Barry reportedly met on SNL. The two are celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary this year.

She’s a mom

Michaels and Barry have three children together: Henry, Edward and Sophie.

Henry was the couple’s first child and was born in 1992. According to his IMDB, he was a staff writer for the television show Miracle Workers in 2021.

Edward was born in 1994 and has worked as an associate producer at Broadway Video, his father’s production company.

Their daughter, Sophie, was born in 1998 and, according to her LinkedIn, works as the manager of talent and brand partnerships for the nutrition company Sakara Life.

She lives in New York

According to a 2011 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Michaels lives in a home in Amagansett in East Hampton with his wife.

He is often in New York City to work on SNL and in a 2019 interview on Backstage, revealed he has an apartment in the city “near the park.”

She is Michaels’ third wife

Michaels was married two times before tying the knot with Barry.

His first wife was an SNL writer, Rosie Shuster, the daughter of Frank Shuster, who was his comedy mentor. They married in 1971 and divorced in 1980.

A year later, in 1981, Michaels married model Susan Forristal and they divorced in 1987.

She keeps her life private

With no public social media accounts or big interviews, Barry keeps her private life quiet and stays out of the spotlight.

She sometimes accompanies Michaels’ on the red carpet and to big events.

Michaels’ also almost never speaks about her or the rest of his family members in interviews.
