Lori Harvey Says She Felt ‘Pressure to Be a Certain Size’ as a Model, Which Informed Her Own Brands' Inclusivity
"You're expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin," the 'Fight Night' actress told 'StyleCaster'
Lori Harvey used her modeling experience to help her develop her brands.
In an interview with StyleCaster as their Fall Fashion Issue's cover star, the model and Fight Night actress, 27, spoke about how important size inclusivity is for her brands.
“I absolutely felt pressure to be a certain size, especially when I first started," she said of her modeling career. "When you're backstage and they're fitting you, everything is sample size. You're expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin."
She added: "'ll be honest, I definitely was self-conscious about it when I first started, because I'm not a traditional model. When it came to developing my brands, I was like, ‘OK, inclusivity is number one on my list.’ ”
Harvey made her runway debut in 2017 at 20 years old, when she walked for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week. Since then, she has appeared in ads for Michael Kors, Valentino, and Burberry, just to name a few.
She has also entered into the world of acting, making her debut in the miniseries Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
Along with her swimwear brand, Yevrah, Harvey also owns the skincare brand SKN by LH — and is highly involved. “I’m literally the brand. Everything runs and flows through me,” she told StyleCaster, emphasizing that her work goes beyond just its name and association.
“I handle all the creative, product development, design—you name it, everything from curating the Instagram down to the content of the shoots. Let’s clear that misconception up. She is heavily involved. She is the brand.”

SKN by LH's website states that their products are vegan and "were formulated for all skin types including sensitive skin."
In December 2023, Harvey opened up to PEOPLE about becoming "more comfortable" in her skin. “I think just as I've grown older, I've gotten more comfortable in my skin,” she said, adding: "Just more confident in who I am. So now I just embrace it. Embrace it all. Take it all in and really owning it."
She has also embraced how much she has grown since being a teenager. "Honestly, just as I'm growing, I always look back and I'm like, ‘Wow, I don't even remember that person.’ But like, ‘Okay, love this. And we love the growth.' "
