Loose Women's Stacey Solomon might as well have stayed in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, as the presenter has shared that she recently found a live maggot in her food.

During a series of updates on her Instagram Story, Stacey revealed that she'd found a live larva wiggling around inside a chestnut after she bought a bag of the festive food to enjoy as a snack.

Sharing the nightmare fuel on her social media, Stacey said: "I thought I would sit down and eat some chestnuts and look what I just found in one. What the hell?!"

Whispering in horror, she added: "It's an actual maggot! It's hairy and everything."

Stacey's gross discovery didn't stop her eating the entire bag of chestnuts, however.

"A few people have messaged me, worried that I might have carried on eating the chestnuts. I did," she said.

"There was only a worm in one. The rest were still good weren't they?! They tasted nice!"

In her Instagram Stories, she also explained: "I ate them all (except the worm one). They were delicious. I'm positive it'll be fine, there was only a worm in one. If anything it made me feel like they were more fresh.

"At least I know they really are organic. Extra protein my grandma would say."

Of course, it's not the first time Stacey has come across something disgusting in her food, as she's previously taken part in I'm a Celebrity, where she had to chow down on kangaroo vagina during her time in the jungle in 2010.

Loose Women airs every weekday at 12:30pm on ITV.
