The 33-year-old became the first Indian female badminton player, and the second Indian overall (after the legendary Prakash Padukone), to reach the top of the world rankings. Saina Nehwal’s other milestones include winning a medal at every BWF major individual event (namely the Olympics, the BWF World Championships and the BWF World Junior Championships).
