Long Lines Seen in Tampa as Thousands of Flights Delayed or Cancelled Across United States

Long lines were seen at Tampa International Airport as thousands of flights were cancelled or delayed across the United States on December 31, as a combination of holiday travel and a surge in Omicron COVID-19 cases further disrupted travel.

According to the tracking website FlightAware, over 1,500 flights traveling within, into or out of the United States were cancelled on Friday, and more than 3,300 were delayed.
