A line of cars waited outside a water distribution site in Houston, Texas, on February 21 as a boil water notice remained in place for the city.
Democrat Rep. Sylvia Garcia shared this footage showing Navigation Boulevard in Houston, close to a water distribution site.
“This line is going miles and miles for water. Water is in full shortage in Houston,” Garcia says as she records the video. “We’re still under a boil alert in the county, we’re still under a boil alert in the city, and there are no water in many grocery stores.”
The Houston Office of Emergency Management said Mayor Sylvester Turner and community partners would continue to distribute bottled water at specific locations, including Butler Stadium, as the water advisory remained in place. Credit: Rep. Sylvia Garcia via Storyful
