London Assailant Dressed as Delivery Driver Convicted of Firearms Offenses

A 32-year-old London man was convicted of firearms offenses on June 7 for an incident last year in which he dressed as a delivery driver and attacked a resident as he opened his front door.

In this video released by London police, the convicted man, Vicente Forde, can be seen waiting at a front door with what looks like an Amazon box that police said was empty. Forde then puts the box on a garden wall, looks behind him and retrieves what police said was a shotgun from his hi-vis jacket before engaging in a fight with the man who opened the door.

Police said the victim, who was home with his daughter, managed to disarm Forde, restrain him with help from some members of the public until police arrived and arrested him.

“He was lucky that a number of members of the public took heed of his cries for help and came to his aid,” Detective Constable Imran Hansraj of the Specialist Crime Command said. “They too deserve enormous recognition.”
