Riot Games has released the final update of 2021 for League of Legends: Wild Rift through Patch 2.6a on Wednesday (22 December).

The development team previewed the changes last week and gained mixed reactions from the community, with plenty of the champions affected following the huge update on 3 December.

The team also made sure to spread some cheer by announcing the arrival of Christmas and PROJECT skins, which fans had been looking forward to.

Here are the biggest changes to your favorite champions in League of Legends: Wild Rift's Patch 2.6a:

Champion Buffs

Amumu, Kai’sa, Lee Sin, Olaf, and Twisted Fate received some love for this micro-patch. While some players were quite happy with the buff on Kai’sa and Twisted Fate, others believed that boosting some of Lee Sin’s stats were a bit too much since he’s already very dominant in the jungle.

Amumu

This was the second time that Amumu received changes for the month, with the developers saying that “they were too cautious” in the last patch.

So to balance it out, our little bandaged friend gained back a bit of base health, from 570 to 650, and the base armor from 30 to 35.

The recharge time for his Bandage Toss skill has decreased from 17/16/15/14 seconds to 14/13.5/13/12.5 seconds, and the base damage increased by 10 points across all levels.

Kai’sa

The champion was nerfed in patch 2.6, but the balance team believed it affected her gameplay too much.

As a result, her Bonus AD ratio has increased from 30% to 40%.

Lee Sin

A popular champion pro-play, Lee Sin was the third most-picked champion during the Horizon Cup.

That’s why it was a surprise to some that he’s getting buffed, but the developers said that he “could use a little help in lower-level games”, however, the buffs “shouldn’t impact him in higher-level play”.

His health regeneration increased from 9 per 5 seconds to 10.5 per 5 seconds, and the base damage of Dragon’s Rage increased by 25 points across all levels.

Olaf

While people complained that the Olaf buff in the LoL PC game was too much, it seemed that a bit of love for the Freljordian Berseker was warranted in Wild Rift.

His AD per level increased from 3.6 to 4.55, and Undertow’s Slow ratio increased by 5 points across all levels.

Twisted Fate

This champion is another popular pick in 2021 because of his powerful cross-map play, but previous TF mains complained about the nerfs in an earlier patch.

Finally, the balance team seemed to agree that it was too much, so the Card Master got some buffs as a holiday gift to players.

His health per level increased from 105 to 115, while the cooldown for his skill Pick A Card has decreased from 8/7.5/7/6.5 seconds to 7/6.5/6/5.5 seconds.

Champion Nerfs

For this patch, Akshan, Camille, Fiora, Fizz, Jarvan IV, Kayle, Renekton and Senna all received nerfs to prevent them from overpowering other champions on the Rift.

Many players in the community praised this move, except for Jarvan IV and Camille, who they believe didn’t warrant any adjustment at this stage.

Akshan

Let’s be honest, Akshan is pretty annoying on the Rift. He can easily swing into multiple lanes and can clear waves with ease.

The developers believed that this was too much, so his base attacks were decreased from 58 to 53, and Avengerang’s base damage has decreased from 5/35/65/95 to 5/30/55/80.

Camille

According to the balance team, the champion’s roaming and scaling tend to dominate the game.

So her health per level decreased by 10 points, and the frequency of her passive, Adaptive Defenses has increased from 10 seconds across levels to 18/16/14/12 seconds, at levels 1/5/9/13.

We think it’s a pretty painful nerf too, but the impact on her gameplay remains to be seen.

Fiora

The grand duelist gets a nerf because “she hasn’t been giving her opponents enough opportunities for a fair duel”.

To balance it out, the developers decided to increase the cooldown of her Riposte from 13/12/11/10 seconds to 18/16/14/12 seconds.

Fizz

Fizz is a bane for many players because he’s highly mobile, and his burst damage is excruciating.

So for this patch, the Tidal Trickster’s cooldown for Chum the Waters has increased by 10 seconds.

Jarvan IV

According to the balance team, this champion is a strong pick in Baron lane, and he’s pretty great at ganks in the jungle, but many players are unhappy with the nerfs that are given to him.

His Base AD was decreased from 64 to 58, and Dragon Strike’s base damage was reduced by 10 points across levels.

Kayle

Kayle was recently released last 3 December, but many have complained about how powerful the champion is.

Meant to be a scaling, late-game carry, she’s still dominating even in the early game, sending her opponents running for the hills most of the time.

Her base attack has been decreased from 58 to 52, and her attack speed per level has been dropped from 270 to 220.

In addition, her armor per level has reduced from 3.9 to 3.5. Lastly, Divine Judgement’s base damage reduced from 200/350/500 to 150/275/400. Although the nerfs are pretty significant, we think it’s warranted.

Renekton

This champion was the number 1 pick in Horizon Cup since the Butcher of the Sands is relatively easy to master and is very strong in the Baron lane.

Renekton’s nerfs were given to make sure he “works a bit harder” to kill his opponents.

His attack damage growth decreased from 5.5 to 4.5, and Ruthless Predator’s cooldown increased by a second per level.

Senna

Senna was another favourite in the Knockout stage of the Horizon Cup, and she still is in Solo Queue because of her range and attack.

As a result, the balance team decreased the additional attack range per 20 souls from 25 to 15. However, she gets a buff in Dawning Shadow, with the Shield Amount increasing from 3 shield health per soul to 4 shield health per soul.
