Local Artists Paint Black Lives Matter Mural on Charlotte Street

More than a dozen artists in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, painted a mural reading ‘Black Lives Matter’ on a busy road, similar to a mural in Washington, DC, painted in the wake of nationwide protests against police violence.

The message spreads over Tryon Street between Third and Fourth streets.

Each of the 16 artists involved, working in collaboration with the City of Charlotte, community-led public art collective Brand the Moth, Charlotte Is Creative, and the art gallery BLKMRKTCLT, was to paint their own vision for each letter, according to local reports.
