A "fast-moving” blaze in the LNU Lightning Complex group of fires overran cameras on Mount Vaca in Northern California early on Wednesday, August 19, according to reports.
This footage by ALERTWildfire shows bright orange flames advancing over hills and nearing the fire cameras as the video cuts out.
ALERTWildfire, a group that aims to alert firefighters and the public to wildfires, said this video was the “last footage” shot by two cameras placed on Mount Vaca.
The Hennessey Fire, part of the LNU Lightning Complex, prompted “frantic” evacuations as it moved toward Vacaville in Solano County on Wednesday morning, local media reported. Orders were already in place for some residents to evacuate their homes in Napa and Sonoma counties.
The series of lightning-caused fires, including the Hennessey, Gamble, 15-10, Spanish, Markley, 13-4, and 11-16 fires, had collectively scorched more than 32,000 acres by Tuesday, reports said. Credit: ALERTWildfire via Storyful
