Liza Wang has high expectations for Eric Tsang, Wong Cho Lam

26 Jan – TVB veteran actress Liza Wang recently expressed her delight over news that Eric Tsang and Wong Cho Lam will return to the company as part of the management, hoping that their involvement will help empower TVB as a greater broadcaster.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media at the Big Big Shop New Year Appreciation ceremony recently, stated that she was not surprised to hear that Eric has been appointed the new Deputy General Manager and Special Advisor to the Executive Committee, while Wong will be the new Chief Creative Officer, as they are both talented people who have worked both in front and behind the cameras.

"Their willingness to return is a good thing and everybody is looking forward to it. Eric and Cholam have done a lot in the mainland in recent years and they could be bringing new technologies and ideas. I hope that they can strengthen our variety shows," she said.

When mentioned that TVB's variety shows are more focused on food and travel, Liza concurred saying, "There are no game shows and singing programmes anymore."

On the other hand, when asked if Eric's return will end the "camp" culture in TVB that have hindered the development of many talented people, Liza responded that she has no idea how to respond to the alleged issue.

"I can only say that everybody has different teams to do things well. But if you are more tolerant, you will get more people to do things and this way you will be able to cultivate more talents."
