A midfielder Liverpool have already made a ‘strong pitch’ to has demanded his club listen to offers, while a report claims Jurgen Klopp is mulling the loan route if a permanent deal can’t be agreed.

Midfield additions will be the centre of attention at Anfield this summer. Arthur Melo will return to Juventus once his loan spell concludes, while Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain look certain to leave as free agents.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently claimed Liverpool have given ‘no indication’ an extension is in the pipeline for vice-captain, James Milner. The 37-year-old is being sized up by Brighton and Burnley.

The need for fresh faces in midfield has been painfully clear for all to see this season. With so many of Jurgen Klopp’s current options departing, a midfield overhaul is now a necessity.

Among the many players Liverpool have cast their eye over since pulling the plug on Jude Bellingham is Ryan Gravenberch.

The Dutchman, 20, joined Bayern Munich from Ajax in a deal worth an initial €18m last summer, though has seen his game-time severely restricted.

Gravenberch has racked up just 349 minutes of Bundesliga action this term. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka have been the preferred midfield pairing for both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel.

However, Konrad Laimer will arrive from RB Leipzig at season’s end and Tuchel is eyeing up a blockbuster raid on Man Utd for Casemiro. As such, Gravenberch’s situation is unlikely to improve anytime soon.

Liverpool spied an opportunity and per Sky Sports, made a ‘strong pitch’ to Gravenberch and his camp.

The move was warmly received by the midfielder who is desperate to reignite his stalling career. However, trusted sources including BILD’s Christian Falk and Fabrizio Romano have stressed Bayern do not want to sell.

Gravenberch demands Bayern soften their stance

Now, taking matters into his own hands, 90min report Gravenberch has personally pleaded with Bayern to change their stance.

The online outlet state Gravenberch has called on his club to ‘listen to any offers’ that arrive rather than immediately dismiss them.

Despite Bayern’s stance the player will not move, it’s claimed Liverpool are in no mood to give up on the deal. Explaining why, it’s revealed Liverpool feel emboldened to keep pushing through the belief Gravenberch is ‘determined’ to force an exit.

One potential avenue that could lead to success for Klopp is the loan route.

A permanent move would obviously be preferrable for Liverpool, though it’s noted a loan deal is being considered in the event Bayern are more receptive to an exit of that kind.

In that scenario, logic would dictate Liverpool would push for an option to buy to be included.
