Liverpool have found out they should be able to bolster their attack with one of Serie A’s biggest names this summer as he is currently in a difficult situation in Italy.

Several changes will be made to the Liverpool attack at the end of the season. Roberto Firmino will leave Anfield after deciding not to renew his contract on Merseyside.

Firmino has been linked with shock moves to Barcelona and Saudi Arabia, but it is now looking far more likely that he will end up at AC Milan.

Fabio Carvalho could follow Firmino out of Liverpool. The ex-Fulham ace has not had the desired impact under Jurgen Klopp and is therefore looking to move on.

According to reports coming out of Turkey, Carvalho could surprisingly end up joining Galatasaray as they are keen to land him.

Despite those exits, Klopp should still have enough forward options to get Liverpool into the top four next season. He can rely on Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

Salah is having another great season, as the Egyptian has registered 28 goals and 11 assists in 46 matches. That includes 17 strikes in 33 Premier League outings.

But Salah is now 30 years old, which means Liverpool need to start thinking about capturing a player who can eventually replace him on the right flank.

Liverpool could go after Juventus forward

Federico Chiesa of Juventus is one option. While the Italy international has endured two injury-hit seasons, he remains an electric winger who is capable of both scoring goals and setting them up for his team-mates. He is one of the few players in world football who would be able to replicate Salah’s pace in the Liverpool team.

In February, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson labelled Chiesa a potentially ‘amazing’ successor to Salah.

And the Reds have been given a boost in their hunt to sign the wide man. According to Italian-Australian journalist Adriano Del Monte, Chiesa is gradually getting closer to leaving Juve.

He claims there is a ‘disconnect’ growing between Chiesa and his club, which is partly down to Juve boss Max Allegri. The manager has failed to properly integrate Chiesa back into the Juve starting eleven since his return from injury. Plus, the 25-year-old has been played out of position as he has regularly been used as a centre-forward or central attacking midfielder rather than at his favoured right wing.

Chiesa has become ‘frustrated’ with his situation in Turin and is now weighing up whether to find a new club in the summer.

It would be interesting to see how things went if Liverpool submitted an offer for Chiesa. Juve would probably like to sell him after his struggles in the last two years, although they would want to get back most of the  €40million (£34m) they originally spent on him.

However, Liverpool could drive that price down by pointing to the fact he is not currently an integral player for Allegri.

The transfer might be a risk from Klopp, but the German would fancy his chances of getting Chiesa back to his world-beating best, as long as he can stay fit.

Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher has surprisingly blamed Klopp for Liverpool missing out on priority target Jude Bellingham.
