Dallas turned the ball over three times, but was able to overcome that to pull ahead in the final minute

The Dallas Cowboys pulled out a gut-check win in Pittsburgh over the Steelers, and it was Dak Prescott leading the Cowboys on a game-winning drive that culminated with a fourth-down, four-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Tolbert with 20 seconds left to get Dallas the win. Prescott threw for 355 yards and two touchdown passes, but he also threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball away to the Steelers in the red zone.

In addition to taking the ball away three times, Pittsburgh also blocked a field goal, but the Pittsburgh offense's struggles were front and center in the loss. Dallas out-gained Pittsburgh 445 to 233, and the Steelers were just 3-for-12 on third downs in the game. Those struggles are sure to reignite the fire surrounding the Steelers' quarterback position, with Russell Wilson telling NBC Sports before Sunday Night Football that he'd be ready to go for the Steelers' game next week at the Raiders.

Both teams are 3-2 after Sunday's game, and in Week 6, Dallas hosts Detroit, with the Steelers headed to Las Vegas.

    For the second time this season Dak Prescott is over the 300-yard mark through the air. He's at 304 yards with 10:55 to go in regulation. He threw for 379 yards in the loss to the Ravens.

  • Dowdle with a big catch and run on 3rd down

    Rico Dowdle has made a big imprint on this game. He's got 14 carries for 69 yards and two catches for 27 yards and that touchdown.

    Pittsburgh thought they'd gotten a stop, but a defensive holding call on a 3rd down where Dak Prescott as forced to scramble and was tackled. Dallas has been threatening to score for much of the game, but the Steelers defense has come up with two turnovers and a blocked kick with the Cowboys trying to go in for scores.

  • Nick Herbig headed to Steelers locker room

    The Pittsburgh pass rusher who has 0.5 sacks in the game, and has been providing pressure off the edge, opposite T.J. Watt limped to the dressing room. No word on his status yet for the rest of the game.

  • Cowboys having major pre-snap issues

    Another false start for Dallas as the penalty flags start piling up. There have already been a combined 14 accepted penalties in the game.

  • A quick four plays and a fourth down for Pittsburgh

    After starting the series with a nice screen pass to Najee Harris, Fields couldn't keep the rhythm going and a couple of incompletions later, Dallas has the ball back.

  • Steelers come up with a blocked field goal!

    Reserve DT Isaiahh Loudermilk got a paw on it to keep Dallas from cutting into the lead. Steelers lead 10-6 with 8:44 left in the third quarter.

    Fields completed four passes in the first half....then got knocked out of the game...then completed four passes on the first touchdown drive of the game, hitting Heyward for the score to put Pittsburgh up 10-6.

    Allen hit Pat Freiermuth for a 19 yard gain, and Fields came back in the game after missing two plays

  • Justin Fields sent off the field after a brutal roughing the passer penalty called on Tyrus Wheat

    Kyle Allen has come into the game to replace Fields for at least one play

  • Halftime: Cowboys 6, Steelers 3

    The two teams are about even on offensive plays — DAL: 31 PIT: 30 — but Dallas had a huge edge in totaly yards DAL: 202 PIT: 89.

    The difference in the game right now is the two Dallas red zone turnovers. Dak Prescott is 15-of-20 for 179 yards and that interception, and he also fumbled the ball on a strip sack. The interception was his only bad miss of the first half, and the Cowboys do have a couple of chunk plays in the passing game.

    The Steelers' run defense has been as advertised — with Dallas averaging just 2.3 yards per rush on 10 attempts. The Pittsburgh quarterback controversy could kick into high gear this week as well, with Russell Wilson telling NBC Sports that he'll be fully ready to go for Pittsburgh's game next week, at the Raiders. Justin Fields hasn't done much in the first half, going just 4-for-9 for 35 passing yards and 20 yards on the ground. Also, the Steelers are just 1-for-7 on third down through two quarters.

    Dak Prescott throws an interception at the 1-yard-line, and its Jackson with the pick. Its the second time Dallas has turned the ball over tonight, and both of them have been in the Red Zone.

    This time to Jalen Tolbert, on a 48-yard catch and run to get Dallas back in scoring position, trying to lengthen their 6-3 lead at the two-minute warning.

    After Pittsburgh picked up a couple of first downs, Dallas forced a punt with Pittsburgh in plus-territory. That coming after The Steelers picked up their first fourth-down conversion of the year on a Justin Fields QB sneak.

    With Dallas driving, Nick Herbig and T.J. Watt met in the backfield at Dak Prescott to force a fumble that Herbig jumped on to end the Cowboys drive, Also on the Play, Watt became the second fastest player in NFL history (109 games, Reggie White got there in 96 — and second player in his family history (J.J. Watt has 114.5 sacks — to reachg 100 career NFL sacks.

    Rico Dowdle's 12-yard run — after another big catch by CeeDee Lamb — has Dallas set up in scoring position at the 15-yard-line.

    Two penalties on the drive hurt Dallas. On first down, Tyler Guyton was called for a false start, and on a 3rd and 1, the Cowboys went fast, and the Steelers pass rush got to Prescott quickly, forcing a throwaway that wound up being flagged for intentional grounding.

    Justin Fields completed 2-of-4 passes and rushed for 13 yards on the first drive, but Chris Boswell was able to knock in a 41-yard field goal to tie the game. Najee Harris also had a 15 year reception on the opening series.

    Kneeland started tonight in place of Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence, and the Cowboys are thin at the EDGE position on their front line.

  • Cowboys take the opening kickoff

    Dak Prescott completes his first three passes to get Dallas into Steelers territory, before Pittsburgh forces a Brandon Aubrey 55-yard field goal to put Dallas up 3-0. The wet conditions didn't seem to bother Aubrey at all, who nailed the kick with room to spare.

    The turf at the Steelers' home stadium has been upgraded since then, but this game — which the Steelers won 3-0 on a Monday night — featured one of the most iconic weather-related moments in NFL history with a Brandon Fields punt that got stuck in the mud.
