With only one matchup between top 25 teams on the slate, this week looked like it could be a dud. But college football always delivers when it's least expected, and it did in a big way on Saturday with two top-five upsets.
The Commodores were 23.5-point underdogs, but never trailed in the upset win. Vandy QB Diego Pavia was the hero, completing 16 of his 20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 57 yards rushing.
The Razorbacks' defense was key in knocking off the Volunteers, holding Nico Iamaleava in check all night (17-of-29, 158 passing yards), but the hero was backup QB Malachi Singleton. He filled in after Taylen Green got hurt late in the game and led the Hogs on a game-winning touchdown drive, bolting into the end zone with his legs for an 11-yard score. The Vols had a chance for a rebuttal but came up short.
Cam Ward passes to Isaiah Horton for an 18-yard TD. That's Miami's second TD of the half and it cuts Cal's lead t 38-25.

On today's episode of The College Football Enquirer, Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger and SI's Pat Forde react to Florida's announcement that they are bringing head coach Billy Napier for the 2025 season. All hail the Arne Slot evolution and the continued rise of his Liverpool team of the tweak. If Jürgen Klopp was famed for his heavy metal football, Slot is all about the fine tuning. There have not been many radical policy shifts, but transforming Luis Diaz into a prolific goalscorer may be one of the most unexpected and progressive Slot moves yet.
