Live updates: Trump addresses House Republicans; Senate confirms Treasury secretary

Monday kicked off the second week of President Trump’s return to the White House, and it’s was a busy one.

House Republicans are holding their annual policy retreat in Florida, and Trump addressed the group, running through a litany of issues including immigration, the executive orders signed on Day One, and his views on the AI company DeepSeek.

Also on Monday, the Senate voted to confirm Scott Bessent, Trump’s nominee to lead the Treasury Department.

And fallout continues from Trump’s Friday night firing of a slew of inspectors general and actions his administration is taking on immigration.
