Western countries suspend funding for UN agency in Gaza after Israeli accusations

Several key donor countries to UNRWA, the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees, said they would suspend their funding following accusations by Israel that a dozen of its employees were involved in Hamas's October 7 attack. Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Finland joined the US and Canada on Saturday in pausing disbursements, with Switzerland saying it would take no decision until the “serious accusations” were clarified.
