Some homes have it all: Stunning architecture and interior design, historical charm—and even a famous former owner. Somehow, 78 Grandview Boulevard in Reading, Pennsylvania checks all of these boxes and more. Since 2013, Sydney Redner and her family have lived at this address, which just so happens to be...get ready for it...Taylor Swift’s childhood home. Last week, Redner gave the internet a brief look at the impressive house, in the form of a TikTok video that has since garnered over 728,000 views—and Swifties everywhere are drunk on jealousy.

Redner’s post was in response to a TikTok trend where users from Berks County, Pennsylvania share their personal connection to Taylor Swift. In the video, Redner walks through the house, straight to the front yard so as to show the exterior of the home, then she reveals, “I live in her childhood home 😅.”

Built in 1929, the Colonial Revival-style home boasts 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms across 3,560 square feet, and is located on .75 acres. The house has served as inspiration for several Taylor Swift songs (hence the lyric “I grew up in a pretty house” from "The Best Day"), and it’s believed that she wrote some of her earliest hits here, including “Teardrops On My Guitar” and “Love Story.” Redner admits to House Beautiful, “There is no way of proving any of this because it’s never been confirmed, but it’s fun to think about!”

Of course, we had to find out if there are any remnants in the home left behind by Swift herself. “In the cement outside, there is an imprint that says ‘TAS,’” Redner reveals. Given that these letters spell out Swift’s initials (her full name is Taylor Alison Swift), it seems likely that this mark was made by the songstress herself!

Since the Redners moved into this house seven years ago, some changes have been made to its appearance. The once-beige exterior is now white, a decision made by Redner’s mother and grandmother, Angela Ehst, who doubles as the family’s interior designer. Redner says she thinks the house was also painted white when Swift lived here.

Given Swift’s popularity, it’s no secret that she used to live in this house, so fans often stop by to take pictures in front of the abode. “We get a lot of fans taking pictures outside the house. I feel like there tends to be more around the holidays, when people are traveling from other states and want to see it,” Redner reveals. “If Taylor Swift has a concert in Philadelphia or somewhere close, there are more fans around that time. Our family is fine with fans taking pictures as long as they are quick and respectful.”

Swift is no stranger to appreciating both the history behind and the former owners of her homes (ahem, “The Last Great American Dynasty”), so it’s only fitting that those who live in what was once Taylor’s house do the same!
