Live Oak Tree Damaged by Lightning in Central Texas
A live oak tree in Pedernales Falls State Park, in Johnson City, Texas, was struck by lightning after a surprise storm passed through the region on Monday, July 11, according to the park’s Facebook page.
The footage shows a scar running down the length of the tree. “The bark of the tree literally exploded out from the trunk!” a caption accompanying the post read.
