Hamas's armed wing published a video Saturday of an American-Israeli hostage held in Gaza, in which he pleads for US President-elect Donald Trump to secure his release. Earlier, the US-based charity World Central Kitchen paused its Gaza operations after three aid workers were killed in an Israeli air strike in Khan Younis that the Israeli military said targeted a "terrorist" involved in the October 7 Hamas attacks. JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Palestinian militant group Hamas released a video of an Israeli-American hostage on Saturday, in which he pleads for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to secure his release. Yael Alexander, the mother of hostage Edan Alexander, said she was shaken by the 3-1/2-minute video, which showed the 20-year-old captive looking pale, seated in a dark space against a wall.

Hamas released propaganda video showing Israeli- American hostage Edan Alexander pleading with Netanyahu and Trump not to forget him and to do whatever they can to free the remaining hostages in Gaza. While Hamas has released similar videos in the past, this was the first Alexander has appeared in. His family has authorized the release of the video. CNN can’t independently confirm when the video was recorded and has reached out to the US State Department for comment. Myanmar navy fires at Thai fishing boats, detains 31 fishermen, Thailand says
Myanmar's navy opened fire on a group of Thai fishing vessels on Saturday, causing one fisherman to drown, and detained 31 crew members from one of the boats, a spokesperson for Thailand's Defence Ministry said. Two of 15 Thai fishing vessels were fired at after they operated 4-5.7 nautical miles (7.4-10.6 km) inside Myanmar's territorial waters, spokesperson Thanatip Sawangsang said in a statement. One of the boats, with 31 fishermen on board, was detained by Myanmar's navy during the encounter, Thanatip said, adding that the Thai navy was in negotiations to secure their release.
