Lisa-Marie Tse denies using profanity on charity show

20 Oct – Miss Hong Kong 2020 Lisa-Marie Tse has denied the notion that she had used profanity during the recent live broadcast of the Yan Oi Tong Charity Show.

As reported on Mingpao, the beauty queen, who previously acknowledged that she is still improving her Chinese proficiency, told the media that she had actually forgotten her line while she was on stage to introduce Yan Oi Tong.

"I memorised it well originally, but I forgot it in the end. I am so sorry," she said.

As to claims that she used the "F" word in frustration after forgetting her lines, Lisa explained that she was actually trying to say the Chinese words for "serving people in need", and was pronouncing the word "fu" (service), instead of the word people thought she spouted.

"I was nervous and the line was a bit difficult. I wanted to skip to the next line but I forgot that too. I rarely use foul language [in private]," she said.

When mentioned that she should find someone to help her improve her Cantonese, Lisa said that she would do better if she has more time in the future.
