Lisa Marie Presley has opened up about her grief in the aftermath of the death of her son, Benjamin Keough, at the age of 27.

Keough, who was also the grandson of the late Elvis Presley and brother of actor Riley Keough, died by suicide in July.

The singer-songwriter wrote an emotional post on social media to mark what would have been Keough’s 28th birthday.

Sharing a photo on Instagram of Keough blowing out the candles of a birthday cake, Presley wrote: “My beautiful beautiful angel. I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you.

“The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same. Please wait for me my love, and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters and to be here for Riley. I know you would want that.”

“Happy Birthday my sweet sweet Boy,” Presley added. “You were much too good for this world.”

Keough died at his home in Calabasas, California, in what was later ruled a suicide by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
