A Lip Reading of Gigi Hadid Shows How Stressful and Confusing the Met Gala Red Carpet Can Be
It's been 84 years since the 2024 Met Gala (fine, just over a week), and red carpet lip readings are finally here. Including one of Gigi Hadid navigating the steps of the Met in a giant Thom Browne dress, an experience that—judging from this!—was kinda stressful and took some coordination with her team.
TikTok lip reader @tismejackie (who has been doing an incredible job with Met Gala coverage!) dropped a video of Gigi seemingly chatting to her team, asking them repeatedly what direction she was supposed to go, and saying "Giddy-up, c'mon, these guys said three and a half minutes." At one point she also politely told photographers to wait just "one second" so people could get out of her shot, and then debated which step to stand on.
Honestly, seems like navigating the Met is a lot, even for a pro like Gigi.
In case you missed it, @tismejackie also did a lip reading of Lana Del Rey and Kim Kardashian's much-discussed conversation at the Met Gala and turns out they were...simply talking about Kim's look.
Here's what Lana allegedly said:
“I know, right? Everything’s sick. *gasps* Stop. I wanna know. I want the tea. And I’m wearing plug-ins. I’m absolutely obsessed with your waist. Oh my gosh. Oh really? I love it. I didn’t notice. It’s always something. Makes sense. I mean...in a way...that’s smart. Where are you sitting?”
