Lingo Season 2 Gets CBS Premiere Date, New Game Play Twist
Let’s forkin’ Lingooooooo!
In the wake of Mark, Matt H. and others who have emailed TVLine’s Inside Line and “Missing” Shows columns asking if CBS’ Lingo might ever again see the light of day, TVLine has learned that the RuPaul Charles-hosted game show will return with its second season in late May.

CBS’ Lingo revival premiered in mid-January 2023, and was renewed for Season 2 just six weeks later. And yet another few weeks after that, the game show was pulled from CBS’ Wednesday lineup — where it had been sandwiched between Survivor and the freshman drama True Lies — and replaced with drama reruns. (At the time, Lingo was retaining barely half of Survivor‘s numbers, giving lead-out True Lies not much to work with.)
Lingo would not be heard from again until CBS aired a holiday special this past Christmas Eve. But now, we have a Season 2 premiere date — Friday, May 24, at 8/7c, where it will return with back-to-back episodes, followed by weekly installments every Friday at 8.

Episodes will of course also stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ With Showtime subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after.
In Lingo, teams of two face off in fast-paced puzzle rounds to guess letters that reveal seemingly simple words. Brand new for Season 2, per CBS, is a twist where the winner for each one-hour episode proceeds to compete in the next episode, allowing for longer winning streaks and even bigger cash prizes.
