Lindsay Lohan is well-versed in fairytale romances, having starred in a slew of Netflix's holiday-themed romantic comedies in recent years. And offscreen, her love life seems to be just as idyllic. Lohan quietly married Bader Shammas in 2022, and has since called herself the "luckiest woman in the world." In an Instagram post that also served as the first confirmation they had married, Lohan said of Shammas, "You found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time. I am stunned that you are my husband. My life and my everything."

Lohan and Shammas prefer to keep things private. They've never shared photos from their wedding or of their son. Their public appearances are rare, at least stateside—they reside in Dubai most of the year. And though Lohan will share the occasional selfie with her husband to her 15 million Instagram followers, Shammas has a private account with just a few hundred followers. But every once in a while you'll find them on a red carpet, and Lohan never hesitates to sing his praises in interviews.

Here's everything we know about Shammas and his life with Lohan.

He works in finance.

Shammas served as an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse until 2021. His LinkedIn shows he is now a Seed Investor at Tecoda, a brand of Tequila sodas, and Fluuky, a company that supports reforestation efforts. He also served as an executive producer on Irish Wish, a movie Lohan starred in.

They married in 2022.

Lohan met Shammas at a restaurant in Dubai, where they both still live. She told the story of their meeting in a 2023 interview with Allure: she approached him to say that he looked like someone she knew. He denied any familiarity, but they continued to speak for hours. Before they parted, Lohan told Shammas she thought she might end up with him. Shammas proposed in the winter of 2021 in Utah, where Lohan was shooting her Netflix romcom Falling for Christmas, according to Allure.

Lohan announced her engagement on Instagram in 2021, writing "My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love 💍 11.11.21" to caption a carousel of photos of the pair. In the photos, you can see a ring on her finger.

In July of 2022, Lohan's rep confirmed that the pair had tied the knot to Us Weekly. Though the private pair kept details of their nuptials under wraps, Lohan posted on Instagram for their one year anniversary, revealing their wedding date was April 3, 2022.

He lives in Dubai with Lohan.

Lohan moved to Dubai around 2015, having left the US for London a year prior, according to Allure. She found solace in her relative anonymity on the other side of the pond, which was only amplified in Dubai, where strict laws prohibit paparazzi. "Dubai gives me that space to have my own vision of what I need to do next," she told Allure.

Lohan explained her choice to move eastward in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, "I love living in New York, but I do love the serenity and peace that I find living in the Middle East because there are no cameras in Dubai and I can actually focus on what I want to do in life. I don't always have to be scrutinized every second. I can have a private life and have a public life, but when I choose to. I think that's really important."

They share a son.

In March 2023, Lohan announced to Instagram that she and Shammas were expecting a baby. "We are blessed and excited," she wrote, alongside a photo of a onesie with the words "Coming Soon." In July of the same year, a rep told People that the couple had welcomed a son named Luai, which is Arabic for "shield or protector." The rep added that the new parents were "over the moon in love."

In a 2024 interview with Bustle, Lohan described motherhood as “It’s a whole new, different kind of love you thought you could never experience." In an Instagram post celebrating his first birthday, Lohan wrote "Happy Birthday to my Luai. You are 1! I love you more than anything in this world. My son, my baby, my heart, my everything. I love you always always, forever and ever and beyond!"

They're close friends of Steph and Ayesha Curry.

Lohan and Shammas chose another famous power couple for Luai's godparents: Steph and Ayesha Curry. Lohan and Ayesha worked together on the film Irish Wish. Their friendship became public when Lohan and Shammas attended one of Steph's games. Steph signed one of his Golden State Warrior jerseys for their son with "To Luai your godparents love you!" Lohan and Ayesha told People that their double dates involve cards, cooking, and movies. They said they face time often when Lohan is back in Dubai.

He always shows her support at premiers.

Shammas's rare public appearances stateside are almost always at Lohan's side. He joined her at the premiere of Irish Wish, a screening of Falling For Christmas, a screening of Our Little Secret, and an Oscars after -arty. Of his support for her work, Lohan told Bustle "He will support me because I’m in it. You know what I mean?”
