Lindsay Lohan reveals Pink Slip band is officially 'back together' in “Freaky Friday” sequel

Jamie Lee Curtis previously told EW that Lohan sang a "monster hit" song in the movie.

Pink Slip hasn't been given the pink slip from Disney's Freaky Friday sequel.

After reuniting with her on-screen mother, Jamie Lee Curtis, this summer to film a highly anticipated sequel to their 2003 comedy, Lindsay Lohan revealed in a new interview that her character's beloved rock bank will also re-team in the upcoming Nisha Ganatra-directed movie.

Talk show host Jimmy Fallon asked Lohan about the movie's details — particularly Lohan's singing — during a recent discussion on The Tonight Show, and Lohan confirmed that she's once again making music in the film.

"Pink Slip is back together, the band! Yes!" the 38-year-old told Fallon, referencing the band that her character, Anna, fronts alongside pals Maddie (Christina Vidal) and Peg (Haley Hudson) — both of whom were previously announced as part of the film's returning cast.

Lohan also revealed that production on the movie "finished in August," and called the production a "labor of love."

"Jamie and I, even at the table read, we were just smiling so big," Lohan remembred. "I don't think we were acting well because we were so happy. But, the movie is funny. It's really funny."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at Disney's D23 convention in August, Curtis revealed that Lohan has an emotional song in the film that she feels could be a smash.

"I'm telling you right now, this one played a song last night at the Wiltern [theater in Los Angeles] and it is in my ear like one of those Star Trek earworms. I'm telling you, it's going to be a monster hit," Curtis said at the time. "I'm not going to tell you what it's called because we're in the middle of making it, but there are some old favorites played in this movie."

Added Lohan of the film's plot, which EW previously revealed after viewing an unconfirmed audition page: "Anna is grown up now. She has a teenage daughter, so there's a lot going on in that relationship. Although Anna has calmed down a bit since she was a teenager," further noting that the movie is "freakier and funnier" than the first.

Outside of Pink Slip in Freakier Friday, Lohan also restarted her own music career in 2020 with the release of "Back to Me," which marked her first solo single in 12 years.

Freakier Friday — also featuring the return of Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao — is due for theatrical releases in 2025.
