Rapper Lil Pump has endorsed Donald Trump for US president, while condemning Joe Biden over his tax plans.

The “Gucci Gang” rapper shared a doctored image on Instagram depicting him shaking hands with Trump in the White House, along with the message “The day I met Trump”.

The image originated as a meme, which first bore the caption: “President Trump and Lil Pump came to an agreement to replace the current national anthem to ‘Gucci Gang’”.

On his Instagram Live, Lil Pump further elaborated on his decision to support Trump, while referencing Trump’s nickname for Biden.

“All I gotta say is Trump 2020, b****!” Pump said. “F*** I look like paying an extra 33 in tax for Biden, b****-ass n****. F*** ‘Sleepy Joe’, n****! Trump 2020, b****!”

Under his proposed tax plan, Biden would raise taxes on individuals with income above $400,000 (£310,000), including raising individual income, capital gains, and payroll taxes. He would also raise taxes on corporations.

Lil Pump’s political views were met with mockery by a number of his fans. “Time to unfollow,” wrote one person, whose message was liked more than 23,000 times. “Time to unfollow & forget about u again,” wrote another.

The rapper’s political ideology appears to mirror that of 50 Cent, who declared his intention to vote for Trump last week. “I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people,” 50 Cent wrote on his Instagram. “62 per cent [tax rate], are you out of ya f***ing mind.”

He has since distanced himself from the endorsement, declaring yesterday (25 October): “F*** Donald Trump, I never liked him.”
