New York Liberty signed guard/forward Betnijah Laney to a contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Laney, who was named the WNBA's 2020 Most Improved Player while playing for the Atlanta Dream.

"We are beyond excited to welcome Betnijah to the New York Liberty," Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb said. "As a player, Betnijah represents everything it takes to wear the seafoam and black, from her resilience, to her dedication, to her ‘never quit' attitude. As a person, she is someone New Yorkers will fully embrace as she is as committed to making an impact in the community as she is on court."

Laney, 27, recorded career-high totals in points (17.2), rebounds (4.9) and assists (4.0) in 22 games last season.

She has averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 125 career games with the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Indiana Fever and Dream.
