Liam Gallagher Reveals Brother Noel Turned Down a 'Lot of Money' for 'Big' Oasis Anniversary Tour

Liam is set to tour solo for the 30th anniversary of Oasis' 'Definitely Maybe' album and said he'll "have a nice time" without Noel

Later this year, Liam Gallagher is set to embark on a tour celebrating Oasis' 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe turning 30. He had hoped his brother, Noel, would join him — despite their differences over the years.

In a new interview with MOJO, however, Liam revealed his brother refused to do the tour and turned down a large paycheck in the process.

"Noel? He ain’t f---ing doing it," exclaimed Liam to the outlet, less than a year after Noel told Talksport Radio he'd consider mending fences with his sibling if they got on the phone and chatted it out.

"I did call him! Well, my people called Noel’s management team," said Liam. "We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing – because we got offered it — and he said no."

Apparently, the proposed tour was quite significant. "It was a big tour, a lot of money. He turned it down. I get it, he’s got a divorce going down," he added of Noel, whose divorce from ex-wife Sara MacDonald was finalized last year.

"I’ll do the Definitely Maybe thing and have a nice time without him," said Liam.

Kicking off the band's illustrious career, Definitely Maybe topped the U.K. charts, went platinum in the U.S. and spawned the hit singles "Supersonic," "Shakermaker," "Live Forever" and "Cigarettes & Alcohol."

In October, Liam announced the upcoming anniversary tour, revealing he'll perform the album in full at each date. "I'm bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn't be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together," he wrote at the time.

The tour — which marks the first time he's performed Definitely Maybe since Oasis split in 2009 — is set to launch June 2 in Sheffield and will run through June 27, where it concludes in Manchester.

Fans inquired about whether or not Noel would join upon the tour's announcement. Liam responded via X (formerly Twitter), writing, "He’s been asked and he’s refused."

Next year will mark 25 years since the release of Oasis' 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? — which features the band's signature hit "Wonderwall" — though Liam isn't sure Noel will want to tour then either.

"It’s down to the universe. It’ll happen when it happens, it’s not in our hands anymore," he told MOJO. "Me, I love nostalgia though."
