Li Yuchun's father denies singer's health problem

1 Dec - The father of singer Li Yuchun (aka Chris Lee) has denied reports of the singer's health problems.

As reported on NetEase, on 29 October, amid rumours of Li's health problem circulating online, the singer's father responded to media's query by saying, "Everybody saw her on TV. She was invited to participate in this year's Mid-Autumn Festival Gala and National Day Gala. She sings for everyone. She is in good health."

As for the photo of Li sitting in a wheelchair that has been circulating online, he stated that it was just a still from a show.

"Back in 2019, on the stage of "I Am The Actor", she does the character Ma Jiaqi from the [2018] movie "A Cool Fish". The character is a person who has been paralysed for many years. The photo that was circulating is from the show," he said.

Lastly, he thanked everybody for their concern for his daughter.

It is noted that Li once revealed in an interview that she had suffered from ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis that causes chronic back pain, but used her music as a way to heal her psyche.
