Lewis Pullman is just as interested to see what comes of his Thunderbolts* role as fans are.

The actor and son of Bill Pullman appears in the upcoming Marvel Studios flick as part of a star-studded cast that also includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kame and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

And in a conversation surrounding his new Stephen King horror adaptation Salem's Lot, Lewis, 31, noted that San Diego Comic-Con back in July was the first time he saw the teaser trailer.

"I was as surprised as everyone else to see what is happening with [my character] Bob, and it's all a mystery," he says, teasing, "It happened so long ago, I don't really remember exactly."

"I'm not in the editing room, so it will be what it will be, and I can't wait to see it," Lewis tells PEOPLE of the movie, in which he is rumored to be playing Robert Reynolds, a.k.a. superhero Sentry.

At Comic-Con in July following a Marvel panel, Lewis told Entertainment Weekly of his role, "All I’ll say is that everyone has their own nicknames and Bob is not his only name."

"As Lewis is not my only name," he added at the time.

Pugh, 28, and Harbour, 49, reprise their Black Widow roles of Yelena Belova and Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, respectively, in Thunderbolts*, while Stan, 42, returns as Bucky Barnes.

Rounding out the cast are Russell, 38, as John Walker/U.S. Agent; Kurylenko, 44, as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster; John-Kamen, 35, as Ava Starr/Ghost; and the returning Louis-Dreyfus, 63, as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

An official longline describes Thunderbolts* as "an irreverent team-up featuring depressed assassin Yelena Belova alongside the MCU’s least anticipated band of misfits."

Pugh told PEOPLE at Comic-Con in July that the movie "is something that we've never seen before from Marvel," adding, "I feel like it's a very open and honest and truthful idea. And I'm just really excited for people to watch it.”

Pointing to her castmates, the Oscar nominee also said, “This is why we can't stop laughing together, because we genuinely just had such a wonderful time with each other and we've loved working with one another.”

Thunderbolts* is in theaters May 2, 2025.
