Levi Wright's Rodeo Star Dad Spencer Wright Remembers Son After Fatal Toy Tractor Accident

The toddler died nearly two weeks after he was critically injured on May 21 when he drove his toy tractor into a river behind his Utah home

Spencer Wright, the rodeo star father of Levi Wright who died following a toy tractor incident, has spoken out in the wake of his son’s death.

Levi died on Sunday, June 2, nearly two weeks after he was critically injured when he drove his toy tractor into a river behind his Utah home. He was 3 years old.

At Levi’s funeral on June 11, Spencer paid tribute to his son with a few family stories about Levi's spunky personality and described his son as “the funniest kid.”

Spencer also thanked those who offered their support in wake of Levi’s death. “Everybody was good to Levi,” he added.

At the service, Kallie Wright described her late son as being somebody who was “was impossible to get mad at.”

“He was as pure and tender as they come,” Kallie said with Spencer by her side. “He had always been shy, but once he could talk, he wasn’t afraid to say how he felt.”

She went on to speak about her son’s love for big machines like tractors, and said the family’s tractor was “one of his favorite places.”

“If Spencer was digging or building something, Levi was always right there on dad’s knee,” she added.

On Sunday, June 2, Kallie announced the family was "letting him go," a difficult decision that came “after several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world's best neurologists & millions of prayers."

“We will miss him every second of every day down here but feel without unwavering doubt this is the best thing we can do for him!” she wrote. “We love you baby beans and I can't wait till the day you can 'work the ground' with me again!”

On June 21, Kallie offered some advice to other parents in a post marking the one month anniversary of Levi’s accident, beginning with letting loose more often.

“Don't just take your kids to do fun things, do those fun things WITH them!” she wrote. “Get in the pool, get on the swing, go down the slide, run through the sprinklers, sled down the hill etc. You get the idea!”

Additionally, she suggested getting professional family photos taken more often, and encouraged families not to “make mountains out of molehills.”

Kallie then thanked Levi “for teaching me so much,” adding, “I miss & love you!”
