Leopard print hair is the next major beauty trend according to the Versace runway

You don’t need to be a self-confessed fashion devotee to know that leopard print was the leader of the pack on the SS19 runway with the likes of Richard Quinn, Giambattista Valli and Ashley Williams all dabbling in the trend.

Now, animal spots are back for another round and Donatella Versace has upped the stakes.

Not one to hide behind sartorial boundaries, the Italian designer sent models down the runway during Milan Fashion Week Men’s decked in leopard-emblazoned floor-skimming coats.

But rising star, Brazilian model João Knorr, stole the spotlight from fixtures Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski with a gram-worthy buzzcut to match.

A vision brought to life by hair stylist Guido Palau and colourist Davide, the aesthetic proved popular on Instagram after Knorr shared a snap via Instagram.

One fan took to the comments section to write, “I’ve seen your hair a couple times today! Every time I see it, I go wow and I’m not tired of it!” Another commented: “Obsessed with your hair”.

But just how easy is it to replicate off the runway?

After trawling the Internet, it seems leopard print hair has long been in the pipeline after Bleach London also shared an image of the striking buzzcut back in April 2017.

Shortly after the Versace show, stylist Katy England also took to the social media platform to prove that the trend was alive and kicking back in the early nineties.

Alongside a snap of a model sporting animal print hair for a 1995 Evening Standard shoot, she simply wrote: “It’s all about leopard.”

Although a buzzcut is not necessary to achieve the aesthetic, it seems shorter locks can make the whole process a little easier.

Hair colourist Davide took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes video on how he created the runway-ready look.

In the clip, he can be seen applying dye to the model’s head using several make-up brushes.
