Lenny Kravitz Has His 'Own Relationship' with Future Son-in-Law Channing Tatum: 'He's a Very Soulful Human Being'
The rock star opened up about his daughter Zoë getting married to Tatum on Thursday's episode of 'Sherri'
Lenny Kravitz has a lot of love for his future son-in-law.
During an episode of Sherri airing Thursday, the "Fly Away" rocker, 59, opened up about his relationship with his daughter Zoë Kravitz's husband-to-be Channing Tatum.
"He's a great guy. We got on really well. We have our own relationship, as well," Lenny said in a clip premiering exclusively on PEOPLE.
He continued: "We hang out, and we talk. He's a very soulful human being. He was raised well. He has manners and class."
Lenny also revealed that Zoë, 35, had him meet the Magic Mike star, 43, when they first started dating and their rapport was "very natural."
"Like I said, he's very sweet, and it works," he told the talk show host, 56, who just won an NAACP Image award for for outstanding host in a talk or news/information (series or special - individual or ensemble. "Life is about timing and what you've gone through, what you've learned, and they're in the right place."
When Sherri Shepherd asked Lenny if he'd be doing "the whole father-of-the-bride speech," he replied without hesitation: "Of course, that's my daughter."
Last week, Tatum attended Lenny's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where his daughter gave her own passionate speech in honor of her dad, reflecting on the many joyous moments they’ve shared together.
“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing you for a long time, and I must say, being your daughter has been one of the great adventures of my life," she said thoughtfully.

However, the highlight of the speech was her on-the-nose sarcastic quip about Lenny’s affliction for shirtless looks — or shirts that are about as close to shirtless as you can get.
“Since you were so young when I was born, in many ways, we’ve grown up together. We’ve been through a lot. We’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen you change in the most beautiful ways, I’ve seen the ways you’ve stayed the same in the most important ways. I’ve seen the way you show up and take care of the people you love. I’ve seen your incredible dedication to your art,” she said, before teasing her dad: “But mostly, I’ve seen through your shirts.”
The High Fidelity star continued: “According to my dad, if it doesn’t expose your nipples, it’s not a shirt. And, sure, it used to embarrass me when you’d pick me up from school as a kid. But I’ve gotta say, at this point, I respect it. You really do pull it off,” she continued, before delivering the speech’s sharpest retort: “Your relationship with the netted shirt is probably your longest one."
