This is Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company’s first national release in 3 years, in case you needed some sort of excuse to snag the beverage hybrid. Leinenkugel’s Spritzen has a crisp, beer-forward taste with subtle fruit flavors. It comes in three varieties: Raspberry Lemon, Grapefruit, and Pineapple Strawberry. These aren’t your typical hard seltzer flavor combinations, so that’s all the more reason to give them a try!
Each 12-ounce can only has 93 calories each, no sugar, and no artificial ingredients, but still packs in 4.2% ABV. Spritzen is rolling out on shelves nationwide this week, so keep an eye out! You can get a six-pack with Raspberry Lemon and Pineapple Strawberry or six-pack with only Grapefruit. There’s also a 12-pack variety pack that features all three flavors.
“Spritzen is the refreshing intersection between beer’s timeless taste and the modern rise of seltzers,” Katie Leinenkugel, brand strategy and engagement lead and sixth-generation family member at Leinenkugel, said in a press release. “We know that drinkers enjoy seltzer’s better-for-you qualities but miss the taste of beer, and Spritzen is the perfect option to fill that need.”
According to the brand, this is the first ‘beer with a splash of seltzer.’ So while it’s not quite one or the other, it might be the perfect mix that it earns a spot in your refrigerator for the warmer months. Time to crack open an ice-cold can!
