Russian Missiles Strike Homes in Coastal Odesa Villages, Ukraine Says

At least one man was injured in the Odesa town of Zatoka on Tuesday, July 26, as Russian forces carried out a “a massive missile attack” on coastal villages, destroying private buildings, according to Ukrainian authorities.

This footage from the Odesa branch of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) shows crews working amid ruins as they extinguish fires.

The Southern Command of Ukraine’s armed forces said the assault involved aircraft and was carried out from the direction of the Black Sea.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted a video of the damaged village of Zatoka to his Instagram account, and said there were “no bases” and “no troops” in what he characterized as an “ordinary village.”

About 50 people, including the man who was injured in Zatoka, received help from psychologists at the scene, the SES said. Credit: State Emergency Service via Storyful
