14 Aug – Chinese pop idol Zhang Yixing (also known as Lay) has cancelled his upcoming concert in Hong Kong.
As reported on SCMP, the singer, who was originally scheduled to perform on 17 August at the AsiaWorld-Expo, shared the unfortunate news via his work studio on 12 August.
The statement read, "Nobody would like to see what is happening in Hong Kong now. Therefore, after much deliberation, we have to announce that we will cancel the Hong Kong concert on 17 August."
Zhang was not the only performer who has cancelled his show following the mass protest at the Hong Kong International Airport.
On the same day that the protest broke, the organiser of Della Wu's upcoming concert in Hong Kong announced that they are postponing the show due to unforeseen circumstances.
