Lawrence Ng apologises for remarks about unidentified actress

4 Jun – Lawrence Ng has recently released an apology statement following his recent interview, in which he shared a story about a mainland actress going around looking for men to bed.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who told the story on TVB's "Tiger's Talk" when he appeared on the show alongside Kenneth Ma recently, stated in his Weibo post that he didn't mean to stigmatise anybody with his story - after netizens began speculating about the identity of the said actress.

Lawrence stated that he was only sharing anecdotes for fun as it was what the show entails.

"The original intention was just to have some fun. There was no intention to stigmatize anybody. I don't want people to guess wildly. If there is anything unpleasant experienced by anyone because of this incident, I am very sorry," he said.

The actor added that he and his assistant even had a discussion about the issue, and realised that he shouldn't have said what he said.

"As a public figure, I should always be careful with my words and my action. I will never do such a thing again in the future. Please forgive me," he added.

In the previous episode of the show, Lawrence and Kenneth shared interesting experiences of working in mainland China, with the former saying that he heard stories of an A-list actress passing her room number to every male on set - actors and crew members alike.

"A lot of people from the mainland crew know her. I don't like these types of people. I wouldn't give her any attention if she gives it to me," he said.
