Lava From Mount Etna Glows in Early Morning Hours

Molten lava glowed against the early morning sky as it flowed down Italy’s Mount Etna volcano on April 1.

A Strombolian eruption started on March 31 on the volcano’s southeast crater and sent ash 7,000 meters skyward, Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology reported.
