Large Smoke Plumes Waft From California's Fast-Growing Caldor Fire

Large smoke plumes wafted into the sky above El Dorado County in California, as the Caldor Fire grew to 114,166 acres on Monday, August 23.

This footage captured by an ALERTWildfire camera shows a timelapse of the blaze as it tore through the county.

More than 400 single residences and commercial properties had been destroyed, and 17,488 structures were threatened by the fire which as of Monday, was only 9 percent contained according to firefighting authorities. Credit: ALERTWildfire via Storyful
