Large Hailstones Pound Cars as Thunderstorms Sweep Eastern Ohio
Scattered thunderstorms across the Upper Ohio Valley region brought large hail to areas of eastern Ohio on Tuesday, May 3, amid tornado warnings for surrounding areas.
The National Weather Service (NWS) reported the eastbound storms had a history of producing “large hail,” and reported golf-ball-sized hail in several areas of Ohio, including near Zanesville and New Concord.
The NWS issued a tornado watch for east-central Ohio, southwest Pennsylvania, western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia until 9 pm on Tuesday.
