A large group of manatees gathered off the coast of St Petersburg, Florida, with drone footage capturing the swarm of sea cows.
Video taken by See Through Canoe, which said they filmed it on January 5, shows the assembly.
“I counted over 150 manatees in this group that I saw while paddle-boarding,” See Through Canoe told Storyful. “Because of the unusually warm weather there has been a lot of mating activity lately.”
While most people encounter groups of manatees in warm waters during winter months, the animals are “semi-social” during the rest of the year as they traverse Florida’s waterways, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Credit: See Through Canoe via Storyful
