Large Explosion Damages Saratoga Hotel in Havana, Killing at Least 9

Cuban officials said a gas tank explosion caused extensive damage to a hotel in Havana on Friday, May 6, killing at least nine people.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel was photographed near the Hotel Saratoga in central Havana. Footage taken in the area showed the hotel largely destroyed. In a series of tweets the Cuban Presidency said that at least nine people had died and 40 were injured.
