Queensland firefighters used a large air tanker to drop fire retardant on a grass fire burning near Lowmead on October 8.
“Primarily, retardant is used strategically to develop breaks to contain a fire. Retardant works as a barrier by protecting the vegetation it covers from combusting,” Queensland Fire and Emergency posted to Twitter.
The slow-moving fire was considered under control and was not threatening any property at the time, according to firefighting authorities. Credit: Queensland Fire & Emergency Services via Storyful
