Lala Kent is ready to have another baby.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the Vanderpump Rules star, 33, revealed that she's begun the process of conceiving a second baby via intrauterine insemination (IUI) — a treatment where sperm is surgically placed in a uterus to fertilize an egg.

Kent, who is going through the process single and with a donor, is already mom to daughter Ocean, 2½, whom she shares with ex Randall Emmett.

Noting that she had friends who went through the process but were in "cookie-cutter relationships," the reality TV star says "when I had my life go in a very different direction, I knew I wanted more kids."

"It was such a strange thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, 'You're going to find somebody.' And I got to thinking, 'Why does my wanting more children need to involve another person?'"

For Kent, the IUI process is "very much having scientific sex. It's the most wild thing in the world. When my doctor was explaining it to me, I was like, 'Oh, this is just like I am in the bedroom with someone, but I don't have to wait for the big O.' It's just one and done."

"Like, let's just get it done, get the most valuable thing that comes out of a man, which is his sperm, and I'll be on my way," she continues.

The reality star shares she decided to go with IUI because she wanted to take control of her situation.

"I will not gamble on me having my child," she says. "And I just don't think that finding a partner and falling in love with someone has anything to do with bringing a child into the world."

Now, Kent's biggest piece of advice for other women is to bet on themselves.

"If you want children and are only waiting for 'that person' to come into your life, let's talk about a different route that we can take. It's 2024! There are many ways to have a baby, and you don't need a man to do it," she says.

Earlier this month, Kent chatted with PEOPLE at the season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, sharing her desire to give her daughter a sibling.

"I think Ocean is going to freak out when another baby comes into the mix because she's obsessed with babies and I think she's going to be extremely hands-on," Kent said at the time.

Asked where she was in her fertility journey, Kent teased, "We're into the journey! We're actually hauling ass full-steam ahead."
