Lady Gaga apologises for her awkward Jimmy Fallon appearance

From Digital Spy

Lady Gaga may exude confidence while performing killer choreography on stage, but even she is not immune to the curse of really awkward video calls, it seems.

The star was called up by Jimmy Fallon on his chat show last week, but when he got through she said it wasn't a good time for her to do it, without realising she was on television.

He asked if he could call back in 10 minutes, but she asked to reschedule their interview to Monday (April 6). That interview did happen yesterday, with Gaga apologising for the awkward situation.

"I'm so sorry," she said, putting her head into her hands.

"We weren't quite ready yet, and I really appreciate you being so nice about it, and thank you. I love you, I love your viewers, and everyone at home watching. I just wish everybody well."

Jimmy wasn't bothered by last Wednesday's awkward chat, telling the 'Stupid Love' singer that: "We love you all too and it turned out to be really kind of a fun bit for us and got a lot of people talking and a lot of people excited about what we're about to discuss tonight."

Gaga's big news was that she was putting on a benefit concert called 'One World: Together at Home', which will feature performances from people like Billie Eilish and Lizzo in order to raise money for healthcare workers.

The star has already raised over $35 million for relief efforts in the current climate, and called up Apple CEO Tim Cook live on Fallon's show to donate an extra $10 million to the cause.

The concert will kick off on April 18.
