Kylie Jenner's new side fringe is giving us serious year 8 flashbacks

From Cosmopolitan

I don't know about you, but during this period, the only hairstyle I've sported is a messy bun... and I'm not talking a chic 'messy' bun either.

I'm talking a matted birds nest which gradually sags throughout the day, until I readjust it for bed.

Cute, right?

Unsurprisingly, myself and Kylie Jenner don't have much in common and that includes our lockdown hairstyles.

While everyday is groundhog day for my barnet, Kylie has not stopped experimenting with different styles and colours.

One day it's a short bob, the next it's mermaid length and don't even get me started on the shades because she has done everything from chunky highlights to strawberry blonde (apparently she's on a journey back to platinum).

Kylie's latest style might just be my favourite however, because it's a throwback which incorporates those chunky highlights and her current favourite '90s pigtails.

Yes people, it's time to dust off your straighteners and get out your combs because Kylie Jenner has officially declared the return of the side fringe (don't believe us? Even Selena Gomez has one).

If you're already having flashbacks to seeing the world through one eye, look away now...

See, this isn't the side fringe from your high school days. It's the side fringe you always wanted but never had.

Paired with her top knot and blonde streaks, Kylie is really encouraging me to pay over the odds for a pair of Kappa popper trackies on Depop right now.

Also, come to think of it, an outgrown fringe is the perfect lockdown hairstyle. Unless you want to follow Chris Appleton's advice and brave cutting your own of course.

Side fringe it is then...
